An exceptional blend of fine cognac and exotic bitter orange liqueur, created by Louis- Alexandre Marnier Lapostolle.
Over six generations of art and craft are carefully guarded by the expertise of our Master BlenderIn 1827 Jean Baptiste Lapostolle, a distiller of fine fruit liqueurs, built what would become Grand Marnier’s first distillery in Neauphle-le- Château, a small city outside of Paris. Louis-Alexandre Marnier (that married Lapostolle’s granddaughter) had the eccentric idea to combine refined French cognac with a rare variety of bitter orange from the Caribbean. He named it Curaçao Marnier but his good friend César Ritz (Ritz Hotels) came up with the name ‘Grand Marnier,’ “A Grand Name for a ‘Grand Liqueur!” Since 2016 Grand Marnier is part of Gruppo Campari.
